What is the only treatment for autism?


Applied Behavior Analysis by a BCBA (Board Certified
Behavior Analyst) is the only treatment for autism that insurance covers
because it is empirically based, and if treatment is given early
enough, over 50% of patients look indistinguishable from their peers in
general education classrooms.



What's included when we talk about Autism Spectrum


Autism spectrum is much greater and casts a much wider net
than previously thought. O.C.D. is on the spectrum , as well as schizoid
type personality disorder. In addition, many syndromes, including
Rett's and Childhood PDD-NOS come under the heading of autism spectrum.
The difference is now under one diagnosis code in the DSM V, but these

are all part of autism spectrum.
